The customer service record (CSR) is a copy of how a client’s record appears in their local phone service providers billing system. A thorough review of each CSR from your local phone service provider is a critical step in the telecommunication audit process. Every local phone service charge on the CSR will be encoded with universal service order codes (USOC), which need to be deciphered in order to validate contract pricing to the actual cost being billed by your local phone service provider.
A telecommunications audit conducted without a CSR is worthless, any telecommunications audit company that does not include using a CSR in their audit process is not analyzing local phone service and obviously looking only for low hanging fruit. You may be required to forward the CSR to our telecom audit team if the local phone service provider insists on mailing the CSR to the actual physical address listed in the CSR. Some local service providers are now charging for copies of each customer service record and limiting the processing of the requests until the end of a billing cycle, resulting in a delay to completing a telecom audit.
